Usher has allegedly settled a million-dollar lawsuit after allegedly infecting one of his sex partners with the incurable herpes virus!
The ‘Yeah’ singer reportedly paid out US$1.1 million to settle a lawsuit with a stylist who claimed he infected her with herpes in 2012, court papers show.
The documents, which were published this week by Radar Online, allege that Usher had ‘rigorous, unprotected sex’ without disclosing he had the virus.
Graphic details of symptoms are published as part of the report.
According to the website, the documents detail how Usher was ‘exposed to herpes’ in 2009 or 2010. He finalised his divorce from Tameka Foster in 2009.
In California, it is illegal to knowingly or recklessly transmit an STI.
Usher allegedly did just that when he is said to have told the victim he had tested negative for the virus, despite bodily evidence to the contrary.
“Believing [Usher’s] statements that it had been nothing and cleared up, [she] continued her relationship,” Court documents read.
The stylist said she suffered a “fever of 100 degrees, chills, headache, and aches and pains” when she first had symptoms.
Usher paid some of the alleged victim’s medical bills in 2012, totalling US$2,754.40. That’s when he also had his doctor call the woman to disclose the news.
Herpes is an increasingly common STI. More than 30 percent of sexually active adults in New Zealand carry the virus.
