There was commotion at OG plastics headquarters at Maselema in Blantyre on Wednesday after relatives of a deceased employee brought a dead body to the office in protest of how the company arranged the transport for the funeral.
According to the state controlled Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), the employee was working for OG plastics as a machine operator for 7 years.
Earlier that day, the family of the deceased together with his identified as Grace Sesengo informed the company about the demise of their employee who was admitted at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.
However management at the company was reluctant to offer the needed support.
The development did not please the family and neighbours who ganged up and stormed OG offices to force authorities to act on the matter.
The company is said to have offered a 3 tonner lorry to the bereaved family to ferry them to Balaka, the home district of the deceased Elias Sesengo.
