Police have today Monday obtained a warrant of arrest for former Malawi president Dr. Joyce Banda on allegations she was involved in theft of public resources.
According to statement by Malawi Police signed by its spokesperson James Kadadzera, the warrant follows people’s questions on what the police is doing on the suspected involvement of Dr. Banda in Cashgate.
The statement adds that evidence gathered by the police raises reasonable suspicion that the former president committed offences relating to abuse of office and money laundering.
