Citizens have taken to the social media especially facebook to criticize Miss Malawi Ireland winner Grace Dehora Phiri, 20 and her runners, saying they don’t deserve to be winners.

Dehora Phiri, a nursing student, was crowned Miss Malawi Ireland last Saturday with Yamikani Chikaoneka, 22 being named a first runner up while Shayna Irfan Shariff , 22 came the second runner up.


But the development did not go down well with Malawians who took the issue to the social media mocking the three.

Others went further criticizing the judges and organizers of the contents, accusing them of being unprofessional.

Pato Phoya wrote: “We can not just complement on or agree with everything, maybe show us the losing contestants..as it stands amene mwatipatsawo as Miss Malawi Ireland 2017 are not good…..We encourage the disorganisers to borrow some Miss from another country to act as Miss Malawi Ireland….
“We can not just clap hands for anything because it is from Europe…..We are very enlightened nowadays……”

Concurring with Phoya’s remarks, Mwangeyi Medi wrote: “Ireland must have only ugly Malawian girls. Even me at 40 i could have won easly.”
As this was not enough, Maxwell Chirwa Jnr accused the three of bribing the organisers.

“I hope she bribe to b choosen mss malawi, this is disgusting,bola mahule ndioneka bwino than this shit,ua jst ruin our reputation!,” he said.

Added Martha Chimwaza: “Ummm this is a disgrace to the Malawians how much did they bribe the officials they don’t look beautiful at all and I bet they don’t have brains too ummm eish.”

Meanwhile organizers have defended the contest.
