Chiradzulu DC suspended for misappropriating money amounting MK170 million

District Commissioner for Charadzulu, Memory Kaleso has been sent on a three month forced leave.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Muhlabase Mughogho confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Mughogho, the DC has been sent on forced leave following allegations of misappropriation of 170 million Kwacha from Other Recurrent Transaction – ORT, without authorization.
Recently councilors from opposition People’s Party (PP) and that of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) sealed the DC’s office over the same issue.
