A 34-year-old man in Mwanza has found his own way to a police cell for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old old girl.
The suspect has since been identified as Times Domingo, according to Mwanza police spokesperson Edwin Kaunda.
It is said the incident happened at Tipatuleni village in Mwanza.
Kaunda said after the suspect had defiled the young girl, he gave her K50 to cover the shameful act.
However the girl did not comply with the suspect and that she revealed everything to her mother after she was questioned upon showing some signs of failing to walk properly.
The mother then went to report the case to Thambani police unit where she was referred to hospital for medical examination.
The results proved positive.
Domingo is expected to appear before the court to answer the charges of defilement.
