People in Mzuzu were shocked when Malawi`s Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Grace Chiumia confiscated keys from a minibus driver who carried passengers exceeding the recommended number of passengers in a public minibus.
The incident happened at Total Filling Station in Mzuzu when Chiumia pretended to be as a customer who was trying to have a ride.
Before the minibus driver took off, Chiumia went to the driver`s window to seize the keys from a minibus registration number RU 5515 saying the driver had exceeded passengers with 4 people per seat.
Meanwhile, reports say after Chiumia had played the traffic officer`s role she took the keys to police so that they should proceed handling the matter from there.
