United Democratic Front (UDF) President Atupele Muluzi on Sunday failed to explain the future of his marriage with the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to party followers at Nyambadwe ground in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Muluzi, who is Minister of Health under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s reign, told a huge crowd that gathered at Nyambadwe primary school ground that the future of DPP, UDF pact will be known at the party’s convention.

“Strenthening UDF is at the centre of our thinking,” said Muluzi.

The remarks attracted a shout from the crowd and some were head shouting Timasuleni Timasuleni lija nkale mwakhala mukutimanga mumasamba bwana.

During the interview with the press, Muluzi also dodged the question regarding the relationship between his party and the ruling DPP.

Balaka North Member of Parliament Lucius Banda has on several times faulted the DPP, UDF marriage, saying it is only benefiting Muluzi.
