American rapper, Earl Simmons, popularly known as DMX, has been placed under a house arrest and also ordered to wear an ankle bracelet as from Friday after court officers found cocaine and other drugs in his system.
The sentencing was passed by a Manhattan federal judge, Jed Rakoff, who was close to sending the rapper to jail but later decided to give him home detention with electronic monitoring.
DMX was accused of cheating the IRS out of $1.7 million in taxes. It was also gathered that court officers found cocaine and other drugs in his system.
According to the judge: the 46-year-old rapper cannot go anywhere without his approval. “Only if I agree to his release in advance can he even go outside to water the lawn,” the judge scolded.
It was gathered that court officers have found cocaine in DMX’ system four times since his arrest on July 13.
