Police in Phalombe have arrested three people on allegations of Burglary and Theft.
Phalombe Police Public Relations Officer Augustus Nkhwazi confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.
According to the statement, three on the night of July 31, 2017 broke into the house of an Agricultural extension worker at Tamani Extension Planning Area (EPA) namely Joseph Before 33 of Mwanakavala village T/A Ngabu in Chikwawa.
The three went away with 32 inch Hisense plasma, 21 inch Ecco TV screen, Sakyno Home Theater, assorted beddings and a laptop bag containing official documents. All to the total value of seven hundred fifty three thousand, two hundred fifty kwacha (MK753,250.00)
Upon return from official assessments, the reporter took the matter to Police. Police officers at Chitekesa Police Unit instituted investigations and arrested the three and recovered all the stolen property.
The three; Kumbukani Mitochi 24 of Tawanga village T/A Mkhumba, Reuben Kanthalo 26 of Pepala village T/A Jenala and Vincent Diness 34 of Tsekakhomo village T/A Jenala in Phalombe are expected to appear in court as soon as investigations are finalised to answer charges of Burglary and Theft contrary to sections 310 and 278 of the penal code respectively.
