Commotion erupted at Trade Fair grounds in the commercial capital Blantyre on Wednesday following the decision taken by Judiciary support staff who took their strike over housing allowances to President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

An eyewitness who rushed to the scene confirmed of the development in an interview with Faceofmalawi reporter.

According to the source, police had to close the entrance to the High Court to stop the strike staff from leaving the premises.

This angered the striking staff who wanted to present their grievances to President Mutharika who was at Trade Fair Grounds at the time of the incident and then resorted in chanting anti-Goodall Gondwe’s songs.

Meanwhile government has once again snubbed the striking staff on housing allowance.
