Whether it was intentionally to capture two mating male lions for gay pride or to show that, it is normal to sleep with fellow sex, the social media awash with negative comments.
According to Mail online, Amateur wildlife photographer Russ Bridges captured male lions trying to mate at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster.
The images show one of the male lions stride over to his mate, mount him and pin him down then apparently attempt to mate.
The one pinned down another male in an apparent bid to mate with him – while a surly lioness looked on exasperated.
Warehouse shift manager Mr Bridges, 42, said he’d photographed lions at the wildlife park before but it was the first time he’d seen them playing together.
He said: ‘Usually they lay asleep doing nothing when I go to photograph them, but this time they were up and about.
‘My favourite shot is the one where he appears to be sticking his tongue out.
‘I’ve never seen a shot of two males on top of one another with one sticking his tongue out before – it’s like he’s showing some pride in what he’s doing.
‘I absolutely adore animals, I can’t even bring myself to kill a fly or a spider, and love the conservation work that the park do.’
The article attracts several negative comments;
“I’m not surprised. Even the animals imprisoned in ‘zoos’ in this country are picking up human habits and becoming gender neutral,” one said.
“can they marry?” another added a comment.
“Well done humanity. Homosexuality is apparently prevalent in nature… So that makes it okay. Now go eat your own puke, your faeces, and your young, because that occurs too,” someone again hit back.
“This proves that animals have forms of mental sickness as well..” comments followed.
“They are animals what do you expect. People now behave like animals or worse then animals,” another added comment.
“Nope, they are just re-enacting what they saw on television (wrestling show perhaps) in the UK. Now, will you bring them back to their natural home in Africa where they won’t get to watch porn?” negative comments continue to pour.
