Evelyn Mwapasa, Chief Executive Officer for the beleaguered Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi, has been moved to Air Cargo where she will serve as General Manager the remainder of her term.
This change is effective November 6, 2017, according to a statement seen by faceofmalawi reporter dated November 9, 2017.
Public Relations Officer for Escom, George Mituka, says Mwapasa has been replaced with Dr. Alex Chiwaya.
Mituka said Chiwaya is not new at Escom after he worked in different capacities for 23 years from 1982 to 2005.
The shakeup at Escom comes amid the mess in the procurement of 78Megawatts diesel stand by generators which were initially planned to be in the country by October to ease the black outs.
