A young American lady has ended up shooting herself in the chest after she had gone for a hunting expedition.
Delaney Flagel, an 18-year-old woman in the USA was reportedly in very critical condition after being shot in the chest by a hunting rifle Sunday.
According to Michigan Live, at about 10:15 p.m., troopers from the Niles Michigan State Police Post found Delaney Flagel lying on the ground next to a car at 5058 Old Pipestone Rd. in Berrien County’s Pipestone Township with a single gunshot wound to the chest.
An investigation revealed Flagel was unloading the rifle from her vehicle after hunting on Sunday, Nov. 26 when the shooting occurred.
“A rifle was accidentally dropped causing it to discharge a round into the victim’s chest area,” according to a press release. The victim was transported to Lakeland Hospital.
Flagel was alone at the time of the shooting, Trooper Jeff Baublit said.
Alcohol was not a factor, the release said.
