The Public Affairs Committee (PAC) has set December 13 as the day for national demonstrations.
The decision follows government’s reluctance to table the Electoral Reforms Bills in the current parliamentary meeting.
On Thursday last week PAC held petitioned President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika through the Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Msowoya and the religious body gave government a seven days ultimatum to table the bill in Parliament.
Speaking in Parliament Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Samuel Tembenu said government will not pushed by anyone to table bill in parliament.
The statement angered some opposition MPs who threatened to boycott the proceedings.
