Students from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) have blocked the road in the capital in protest with the frequent power outages.
The development comes barely hours after the country experienced a two hours total darkness due to an electric fault at Nkula B, According to Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) Public Relations Officer George Mituka.
According to an eyewitness who rushed to the scene, the students have stayed for three days without electricity and water.
In the morning the students organised themselves to deliver a petition to ESCOM on the matter but the move failed to materialize.
Due to anger the students went on rampage blocking the road by burning tyres.
