Medical Council of Malawi has closed down two government health centres in Kasungu for failing to meet required standards, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Richard Ndovie, Medical Council of Malawi acting Director confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).

According to Ndovie, the team closed down Dwangwa Health Centre due to what he called lack of privacy on the side of patients because the health centre has one room which is used as a maternity and treatment room for patients.

The same room is also used by patients to receive prescribed medicine.

Ndovie told the press that the room also leaks during rainy seasons hence the closer.

Apart from, Dwangwa Health Centre, the Council has also closed down Kasalika health centre due to lack of hygiene.
