A 64-year-old man will finish off the festive season behind bars for being found guilty on charges of defilement.
The convict has been identified as Rajab Ntolera who was sentenced to seven years imprisonment by Nsanje First Grade Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
It is reported that on 14th December, the 14-year-old victim had gone to Ntolera`s place to buy a sitting mat which was priced at K1300. However, the teenage girl did not have the said amount but only had K500.
Thereafter, the suspect asked the girl to indulge in sexual intercourse with him in order to get the mat at K500.
In response the victim accepted but the issue was later known by public and got reported to police hence the arrest.
