Kanengo police in Lilongwe is keeping in custody six notorious criminals who are suspected to have been behind the recent robbery activities which have been happening within Lilongwe.
The six have been identified as Joseph Malata, Charles Joseph, Shadrick Fellix, Chifundo Zachariah, Geoffrey Chiwawula and Loyd Hadwell.
Reports say all the six men aged from19 to 34 were arrested after police in the area conducted an investigation to apprehend possible suspects in connection with a series of robberies which have been witnessed in the area.
Property worth billions of Kwachas was also recovered including a Toyota Hilux registration number BS 2212 which is said to have been stolen at area 51 on the night of 17 march.
Other recovered items include three motor cycles, motor vehicle batteries, bicycles, decoders, home theaters, mattresses and curtains.
The suspects are currently in police custody waiting to appear in court to answer charges of theft.
