Some Democratic Progressive Party members in the south are demanding for the removal of the party’s regional governor for the south Charles Mchacha for allegedly abusing power.
One of the district committee members who opted for anonymity confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS).
According to the district chairman, the members also want Mr. Mlenga who was imposed as district governor out of this position.
They claim he is a United Democratic Front (UDF) member and a personal assistant to Blantyre Kabula parliamentarian Rashid Gaffar.
When contacted for comment on the matter DPP’s Vice President for the South Dr. George Chaponda confirmed receiving the complaint from the supporters.
Chaponda said he has called for elections of a new district governor.
