As the day draws near for the country to hold its second tripartite election, United Democratic Front (UDF) has said the party will hold the convention in August in the commercial capital Blantyre.
Chairperson for the convention, Charles Chikuwo confirmed of the development in an interview with Zodiak Broadcasting Corporation (ZBS).
According to Chikuwo, the convention is slated for August 1 2018 and it will run for about three days.
He said 10 positions are up for grabs.
Member of Parliament for Balaka North Lucius Banda has since declared interest to challenge the party President Atupele Muluzi who is also Minister of Health and Population under President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s reign.
Banda has on several times accused Atupele of destroying the party with his alliance with the ruling DPP.
