The Country’s Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima on Tuesday morning shared notes with the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General Greselder Jeffrey amid succession disputes in the party.

The two met in Nkhotakota District where Chilima went to visit flood victims following heavy rains experienced in the past days.

Chilima was welcomed by Director in the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA), Paul Kalilombe and Jeffrey wa Jeffrey who is also Member of Parliament for Nkhotakota South.

In what can be described as rare moments, Chilima was seen sharing notes with Jeffrey wa Jeffrey during the meeting with the flood victims.

The ruling DPP is divide into two camps following the remarks made by the former first lady Callista Mutharika who openly rejected President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s candidature in the forthcoming polls.

Callista went further by endorsing Chilima as the only hope for the country in 2019 polls. But the remarks have attracted mixed views in the blue camp with most of the top blast led by Jeffrey wa Jeffrey endorsing Chilima.

Jeffrey wa Jeffrey recently during official opening of tobacco market in the capital Lilongwe hinted that Mutharika will partner Chilima in the forthcoming polls.

But Bright Msaka contradicted Jeffrey wa Jeffrey during a press briefing in the capital Lilongwe where he said it’s not automatic that Mutharika will pick Chilima in the forthcoming polls.

Meanwhile Chilima is yet to comment on the matter.
