Inkosi ya Makhosi M’mbelwa V has warned the CCAP Church of Livingstonia Synod to leave his area if the church maintains its stance against beer and polygamy.

M’mbelwa sounded the warning on Tuesday during the installation ceremony of Inkosi Mzukuzuku in Mzimba, saying the teachings are against Ngoni culture.

The chief said no one will stop them from drinking beer and marrying more than one wife.

He said if the Livingstonia Synod is not in agreement with this should leave the area and let the ngoni sign another memorandum of understanding with other churches.

It is said that the remarks angered the Livingstonia Synod led by its vocalist Reverend Levi Nyondo who decided to abandon the function.

According to information at hand, Livingstonia Synod signed a memorandum of understanding with the ngoni during colonial rule.

In the memorandum, the two sides agreed not to interfere in each other’s business.
