Founder and owner of General Vision Screen Printers (GVSP) Comrade Dr Feston Kaphaya has said people in the country needs to change their thinking capacity when they want to buy goods and products.
He said most Malawians prefers to buy products or goods outside the country failing to promote home industry Initiative.
Kaphaya said Malawians think that when they buy things from outside the country like United Kingdom, China, South Africa and USA they are buying durable goods than buying in the country.
“Malawians prefer to buy Samsung 7 in UK which its battery does not last long than buying a cartel which its battery last longer,” he said.
He was commenting on whether to Buy Malawian products promote the initiative or not. The Initiative was launched by President Professor Peter wa Mutharika in Lilongwe few years ago.
He said President Peter wa Mutharika showed the support of the initiative after buying sofa set at Ndirande Township and shopping foods in Limbe Market with Madame Gertrude Mutharika.
“To have Buy Malawi product campaign is another thing and to do it is another thing. There is corruption in the country which need to be discouraged at all cost,” he said.
Kaphaya said company’s demand some percentage when they give you job to do that can make printing companies to do substandard job because they need to make profits.
