A 28-year-old man in Lilongwe is expected to appear before court to answer charges of conduct likely to cause Breach of peace after it was discovered that he was attempting to sell his albino wife.
Kanengo police public relations officer Sub-inspector Laban Makalan said the man whose name has not been disclosed had already appeared before Mkukula Magistrate Court on Wednesday where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Second Grade Magistrate Ezekiel Kantikana then referred the case to Lilongwe Senior Resident Magistrate court where the case is expected to be heard soon.
According to Makalan, early this month, the accused had made connections with unknown people to sell his 24-year-old albinism wife.
When she became suspicious of the news, the wife sought refuge at Kanengo Police Station’s Victim Support Unit as police started carrying out an investigation into the matter.
He has since been remanded at Maula prison.
The accused resides at Mgona location in the area of TA Chitukula in Lilongwe,
