A 58 year old man in Ntchisi drowned in a stream on Sunday, police have confirmed.
The deceased, identified as Dymon Kasodze of Kasodze Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko in the district is said to have drowned on his way back from a drinking spree according to Ntchisi police spokesperson, Gladson M’bumpha.
He told Malawi News Agency (MANA) in an interview that Kasodze left his house around 9am and went to drink beer at a nearby village. He drowned on his way back home as he was trying to cross Mwanaleza stream.
Postmortem conducted at Malomo Health Centre revealed that death was caused by suffocation.
