Embattled Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Gustav Kaliwo has described the party convention slatted for this coming Saturday in the capital Lilongwe as illegal.
Kaliwo said this in a media briefing currently underway at Grace Bandawe in the commercial capital Blantyre.
According to Kaliwo, the constitution of MCP grants him with an opportunity to call for convention and no one else.
Kaliwo also faulted the delegates to the convention saying the delegates invited to the convention are not true members of the party.
He further said he will seek legal redress on the matter once the convention is over.
