Independent Member of Parliament for Mzimba East constituency Christopher Mnyenyembe has joined the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) under Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
Mnyenyembe announced this on Thursday afternoon in the National Assembly when he stood to present constituency statement.
In his speech, Mnyenyembe said he has decided to join MCP after consulting with the people in his constituency.
Mnyenyembe once joined the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and he dumped the party in October last year.
