Unknown thugs believed to be followers of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on the wee hours of Friday attempted to petrol-bomb the house of former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s advisor on women affairs Mayi Makuta.

Mayi Makuta is regarded as a traitor in DPP for strongly advocating for the country’s vice President Saulos Chilima.

According to information at hand, the unknown thugs invaded the house of Mayi Makuta with an aim of torching it completely using a petrol-bomb.

By God’s grace, the petrol bomb failed to detonate as it landed at the gate and not close to the main house.

The case has been reported to police.

Mayi Makuta was fired from her position and was replaced by former People’s Party (PP) Clara Makungwa who joined DPP recently.
