Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced the date at which general elections shall be held in the country.

Mnangangwa made the announced in the morning of today Wednesday, 30th May 2018 stating that the general elections shall be conducted on July 30.

The impending elections will be first since the removal of Robert Mugabe through military intervention in November last year.

He is to face 40-year-old Nelson Chamisa from the main opposition party of Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) as well as others.

Mnangagwa has been pledging that the impending elections will be free and fair. He even maintained his statement in a tweet on Monday
