As the day draws near for the country to host its second tripartite election, former President Dr. Joyce Banda met six political parties outside parliament with an aim of forming an electoral alliance ahead of the 2019 polls.
According to information at hand, PP Secretary General Ibrahim Matola, Banda’s son Roy Kachale who is also PP vice President for Eastern Region and other top officials met at Agma offices of Mark Kasonga at Maselema in Blantyre.
Some of the parties that attended the meeting include, New Labour Party, Mafunde, PPM, National Unity Party and Assembly for Democracy.
When contacted for comment PP Secretary General Ibrahim Matola expressed ignorance of the meeting.
But PPM President Mark Katsonga confirmed of the meeting in an interview.
Katsonga said the statement will soon be released articulating what transpired at the meeting.
