Police on Saturday arrested one of the Chilima movement members in Ntcheu for allegedly harassing a woman who was putting on Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regalia.

According to information at hand, the victim was on her way to Ntcheu to attend the rally organized by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.

It is said that the suspect Aaron Chigwembe asked the victim not to attend the function or face the music if she refuse.

The victim reported the matter to the police hence the arrest.

On Tuesday morning, Chilima movement members stormed the Lilongwe Police Station demanding the immediate release of the suspect.

Chigwembe has since been released but no charges have been leveled against him.

Last week DPP Youth Cadet Isaac Jomo Osman was captured attacking Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Member for allegedly putting on the party’s regalia.

The video clip attracted mixed reactions with many people calling upon the Malawi Police Service to arrest the suspect.

But up to now Osman is yet to be arrested.
