A 21-year-old man has been arrested by police in Lilongwe for chopping off girlfriend’s head and dumping her remains in toilet.
Kanengo police spokesperson Labani Makalani has identified the suspect as Madalisto Byson and the victim as Chipiliro Mateke.
According to Makalani, the boy’s actions came after the girl decided to dump Madalisto for another man.
“On the day of the incident, the man went to the victim’s home where he called her for a talk to a nearby bush. While there, he raped and killed her afterwards,” said Makalani.
A police investigation led to the arrest of the suspect at a hidden place along the Lilongwe Mchesi road.
He confessed to have killed the girl after the police quizzed him with questions.
He will soon appear in court to answer murder charges.
