The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has shifted its much awaited national convention from June to July 1 to 3 and the Indaba will be held at Comesa Hall in the Commercial capital Blantyre, faceofmalawi can reveal.
DPP Secretary General Grezelder confirmed of the development in a statement released on Sunday made available to FOM’s reporter.
According to Jeffrey wa Jeffrey, the dates have been arrived at following the meeting the National Governing Council of the party held on Sunday in Lilongwe.
She also said that Minister of Information and Communications Technology Nicholas Dausi has been named as Chairman of the convention Committee.
“All logistical and administrative arrangements for the convention shall be announced by the convention committee,” reads in part the statement.
Meanwhile President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika will go unopposed at the convention.
