Court acquits BWB fraud suspect Brian Makoti

Blantyre Magistrate’s Court has acquitted former Blantyre Water Board Corporate Client’s officer, Brian Makote.
He was charged with laundering and theft by public servant.
However, the High Court convicted Makote’s co-accused, Oscar Kapito on a money laundering charge.
The two were answering money laundering charges involving about K150 million which they stole through a fake Blantyre Water Board Welfare account held at Nedbank.
