Former Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Dr. George Chaponda has withdrawn from contesting as vice president for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for the Southern Region.
Chairman of the Convention Nicholas Dausi who also Minister of Information and Communications Technology disclosed this during the announcements at Comesa Hall.
The development means Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Kondwani Nankhumwa will face Minister of Agriculture Joseph Mwanamvekha and Henry Mussa.
