President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has warned new-comers in the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) vying for various posts at the national convention currently underway at Comesa Hall in the commercial capital Blantyre to desist from causing confusion in the party.
Mutharika said this on Monday during the official opening of the much awaited party convention.
“We have allowed everyone to contest while well aware that some of you are plants of some dark forces.
“Let me warn you, if you win and decided to instigate trouble within the party, we will crush you. You won’t even remember where you came from,” said Mutharika.
Mutharika also warned Party members especially top officials to desist from gossiping, saying this is unhealthy to the party.
Turning to the convention, Mutharika urged candidates to accept results of the convention and work together in wooing Malawians to vote for the party in the forthcoming 2019 polls.
