One person is reported dead while the other is battling for his life at Mponela Health Centre after being hit by speeding vehicle this morning.

An eyewitness who rushed to the scene told this publication that, a vehicle belonging to a certain company upgrading the M1 road close to Mponela Trading centre hit a woman and cyclist.

The woman died on the spot while the cyclist sustained serious injuries and is currently admitted at Mponela Health Centre.

Mponela Health Centre confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the woman died of head injuries.

Meanwhile police are yet to comment on the accident.
