Police in tea growing district of Thyolo have arrested a village headman for indulging himself in cultivation of Cannabis Sativa which is locally known as Chamba.
The suspect is identified as Group Village headman Ghumbi who was nabbed on July 8.
According to reports, some well-wishers informed the police of the suspect’s unlawful business.
Following that, police visited the suspect’s garden which is behind his house and arrested the culprit.
278 plants of cannabis sativa were uprooted by the law enforcers.
Meanwhile, the suspect is expected to appear in court soon to answer charges accordingly.
