Opposition People’s Party (PP) is scheduled to hold its much awaited convention from August 30 to 31, faceofmalawi can reveal.
PP Publicity Secretary Noah Chimpeni confirmed of the development in an interview with the press on Sunday.
“Yes I can confirm that the party will hold its elective convention from August 30 to 31. We now have funds for the convention,” said Chimpeni.
According to Chimpeni, all positions in the party are up for grabs including that of President.
Former President Dr. Joyce Banda who is also PP founder declared interest to contest for Presidency few days after arriving in the country from self-imposed exile.
Banda left the country just after the May 20, 2014 tripartite election which saw President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika emerging victorious.
