Police in Limbe are keeping in custody two teenage boys for allegedly breaking into a shop and stealing groceries worth K676,000.

Public Relations Officer for Limbe Police, Patrick Mussa identified the suspects as Clement Kalanje 19 and Clement Magwede 16 who broke into a shop of Edith Chikaona on the night of 8th July.

Criminal Investigations Department (CID) personnel based at Limbe Police Station carried out an investigation which led to the arrest of the two on July 12 where some of the stolen groceries were recovered and identified by the owner.

“They have since been charged with breaking into a building and committing a felony there in contrary to section 311 of the penal code and will appear before court soon,” said Mussa.

Clement Kalanje 19 hails from Khanje village Traditional Authority Juma in Mulanje district while clement Magwede 16 comes from Zaone Village in Traditional Authority Chikowi in Zomba district.
