Murder case involving businessman Misozi Chanthunya is expected to commence next week at the High Court in Zomba.

Ministry of Justice Spokesperson confirmed of the development in an interview with Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ fm radio) earlier this week.

According to the spokesperson, the state is ready with witnesses which will be paraded in court.

Last Month, High Court Judge Redson Kapindu denied Chanthunya bail describing him as a flight risk and he also considered the seriousness of his case.

Chanthunya is accused of murdering his girlfriend Linda Gasa, second year student at Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA) in 2010.

He was repatriated back to Malawi from South Africa earier this year and he is currently being kept at Chichiri Prison in the commercial capital Blantyre.
