Among others, the meeting has been attended by DPP’s vice presidents for the north and eastern regions, Goodall Gondwe and Bright Msaka respectively and also the party’s spokesperson Nicholas Dausi.

The officials say having formed the movement, Chilima cannot be part of a government he opposes.

In his speech at Masintha ground in Lilongwe during the launch of UTM, among others Chilima said that Dpp is planning to rig elections and also threatened that he has names of corrupt people in DPP and that he will be releasing their names in the near future.

Just some days after a successful launch of his movement in the central region, the government withdrew 42 security officers from his residence and also the office, a development which has been condemned by some law experts in the country.

Today’s meeting in Lilongwe comes a day after President Mutharika left for South Africa where he is attending the 10th BRICS Summit.
