Police in Machinga are on a hunt for a man who has killed his landlord over K4,000 debt.
The suspect has been identified as Frank Nkosi who murdered his landlord identified as Medson James at Liwonde Township in Machinga.
According to Aisha James, wife to the deceased, the suspect was their tenant and on 16th July, 2018 he borrowed K 4,000.00 and promised to pay back on 24th July 2018.
On the fateful day, the deceased went to his tenant to collect his money and in the process of discussions, misunderstanding broke up which resulted into a fight.
In the process of fighting, the suspect hit the deceased with a wooden stick several times and he eventually collapsed.
The suspect then fled from the scene.
The deceased was rushed to Machinga District Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
Postmortem results proved that death was due to displacement of hyoid bone because of severe head injuries.
The deceased Medson James 29, came from Ngalu village in the area of Traditional Authority Sitola in Machinga District.
