The High Court in Blantyre has ordered the freezing of bank accounts belonging to Zameer Karim of Pioneer Investments, over the company’s alleged involvement in corrupt practices.

Judge Jack N’riva issued the order yesterday to the organisation; Youth and Society (YAS), which is led by Charles Kajoloweka.

A leaked ACB report indicates that the company deposited K145 million into a DPP account, out of which President Mutharika withdrew K65 million as a sole signatory.

The money is said to have been part of the company’s payment for a contract on supplying food rations to the Malawi Police Service.

Bright Theu, the lawyer representing Youth and Society said that the inter-party hearing will be on Friday.
