Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) has impounded properties belonging to Member of Parliament for Mulanje South Bon Kalindo over unpaid rentals amounting to over MK1.2 million.
The state owned company has also sealed Kalindo’s house situated at Mulanje Boma, faceofmalawi can reveal.
Kalindo, popularly known as Winiko in the comedy cycles confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local radio stations in the country.
According to Kalindo, he owes MHC money amounting MK800,000 and out of that amount he managed to pay MK600, 000.
Kalindo accused MHC of being used by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to harass him over his decision of supporting the country’s state Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima ahead of the 2019 polls.
He said the political witch-hunt will backfire soon.
