Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General Grezeldar Jeffrey has been robbed money amounting MK1.3 million by unknown thugs at Nkhotakota Executive Lodge where she spent a night, faceofmalawi can reveal.
Police in Nkhotakota have confirmed of the robbery incident in a statement made available to FOM’s reporter.
According to the police report, DPP Secretary General arrived at the said lodge around 2300hours and she slept in room number one.
“At around 0500 hrs, she discovered that the window to her bedroom was open, and a handbag, a purse and a small handbag were all hooked outside through the window which had no window catchers. A total sum of K1,300,000 got stolen, nine DPP scarfs and two dresses valued at K35,000 each were stolen.
“Scene of crime was visited and breaking was confirmed through the window and a hooking stick was also found at the scene. A diary, a purse and and small handbag were found outside the room but without cash,” reads in part the story.
Meanwhile no one has been arrested in connection with the robbery.
