Umodzi Party (UP) leader Professor John Chisi has asked Maklawians to go and register as the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is conducting registration exercise for voters in Blantyre, Chikwawa, Mwanza and Ntcheu.

He said it is very important for people to go and register so that they should exercise their democratic right to choose leaders of their choice.

“If people need things to change in this country they must go and register because that is the only way that will give them chance to have what they want like employment, justice and access to basic and higher education which UP is promoting,” he said.

Concurring with Chisi regional governor for the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) for the south Charles Mchacha also urged Malawians in Blantyre in his whistle stop tour to go and register in large numbers to exercise their democratic right.

He said the DPP has done a number of development projects in this country like infrastructure development, roads and technical colleges for the youth.

“If you want this to continue you must go and register because other political leaders have nothing to offer to this country they are just cheating you,” he said.
