Former President Joyce Banda says Malawi experienced meaningful development during the two years she ruled the country.

Banda while addressing delegates at People’s Party (PP) convention said while in power she demonstrated her love and care for the people of the country.

She said: “Within 100 days of taking over government ,fuel and electricity problems were history.

“We managed to reduce maternal deaths by 30 percent…Teachers were being promoted and the agriculture sector performed.”

The incumbent PP leader further said her party is of the belief that money has to be in people’s pockets saying without this the country cannot move forward.
