State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima is this coming Saturday expected to launch the United Transformation Movement (UTM) in the Eastern District of Zomba, faceofmalawi can confidently reveal.
The launch comes barely a week after a rally in Ntcheu where many Malawians especially those from the district attended the rally.
Speaking at UTM’s launch at St Augustine 3 Primary School Ground in Mangochi on August 19, 2018 Chilima said the launch at Gymkhana Club in Zomba on Saturday following pleas by supporters to have the movement launch in the district.
According to information at hand, on Sunday Chilima is expected to invade Mulanje, a district perceived as a bedroom for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) with rally at Namphungo Primary School Ground at Mkando in Mulanje District.
The rally will be followed by some whistle stop tours dubbed as ‘Imbizo’.
Chilima has taken the country by storm with many people flocking into the movement with latest to join being DPP MP in Karonga Vincent Ghambi.
